Opinions on 2022 City Council candidates?

What do you all make of the current crop of City Council candidates?

Tom Wald, ex-director of Bike Austin, is running for District 9, but failed to get the Chronicle's endorsement, even though they made a dual endorsement of two different candidates.

I admit I don't know much about the bike-friendly bona-fides of other candidates.

Back in the day I used to survey candidates and make endorsements.  Ironically, Wald, a council candidate ran Bike Austin, which was previously the League of Bicycling Voters, which was formed specifically to make endorsements in council races (because of the unpopular 1990s helmet law).  It would be a bit awkward if that group now endorsed Wald, but as we now, Bike Austin was absorbed into Safe Streets Austin (which doesn't make endorsements).

Tom Wald got only 5.1% of the vote in his run for District 9.  Yes, it was a crowded field with 8 candidates, but he finished 6th out of 8.

I noticed that dougmc discussed the race on Reddit.  Is that where everyone moved to from this forum?

Regarding reddit ... not really.  There's some activity on r/bikingatx, but not a lot, and r/Austin gets some as well.

I imagine that people have mostly moved on to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
