New chinless, beltless bicycle

Pedaling generates electrical energy, which is supplied to a motor in the rear wheel.

Clever.

I'm feeling that battery backup is essential, because there's inefficiency in the generator and the motor, so if pedaling were the sole source of power, it would be far less efficient than a chain-drive bike.
