Georgetown's Bicycle Plan - public meetings and council vote dates

If you live in or ride through Georgetown, council will soon vote on a 10-year $20million plan to add 51 miles of bike lanes and paths around the city. Several public meetings and votes throughout this fall:

Re: Georgetown's Bicycle Plan - public meetings and council vote dates

The county that Georgetown is in went for Trump by a 9-point margin, and in local races in 2018, Republicans won 9 out of 10 seats.  Given the strong Republican majority, it seems the campaign by a corrupt government (since all government is evil by definition) to install a handout to benefit anti-American communists will have an uphill battle.

Actually the tide is turning slowing here in Williamson County.  With a University in the city plus a lot of active retirees it might not be as much of an uphill battle as you would think.  I'll post a new thread about some upcoming improvements in Cedar Park that would not have even been mentioned on council agendas 15 years ago.

Infrastructure like this takes decades to implement so even just having these discussion about what is needed and what makes sense is a huge step in the right direction.

That's good news!  I'll keep my fingers crossed.
