Bicycle Sport Shop a co-op?

Bicycle Sport Shop's ad in the Austin Chronicle says it's "Employee Owned Since 2013".  But curiously, there's nary a mention on their website about them being employee-owned, much less how it's structured (e.g., co-op, or something else).  I emailed them asking for a clarification.

Re: Bicycle Sport Shop a co-op?

Bicycle Sport Shop replied and said that they did an ESOP in 2013 (Employee Stock Ownership Plan).  So, that would mean that the workers own most of the stock of the company.  The main difference between that and a co-op is that a co-op is one person, one vote (for the board of directors), while with an ESOP, the workers who own more stock get more votes.
