Jollyville sidewalk gaps being filled, & Austin sidewalk projects map

For those in north Austin that commute via Jollyville you might have noticed all the new sidewalks going in. This was part of the 2016 sidewalk master plan (https://austintexas.gov/sidewalks).  The city has a nice interactive map that shows current and upcoming sidewalk projects (http://austin.maps.arcgis.com/apps/weba … 2d63ba5ce2).  Lamar is getting a lot of attention as well.

The Jollyville sidewalks will integrate with the cycling/ped plans for the new 183north toll project to give cyclist and peds an alternative to using the 183 access roads.  Hopefully within 10 years we will have a continuous dedicated bike paths and sidewalks from Leander to 360 and Duval (to connect with the Walnut Creek trail).

Thanks, this is awesome!

I wish it showed more than just 180 days out, but I'll take what I can get.

I shared this on Nextdoor.com.

If any one is interested there is a sidewalk project completion celebration this week:

Community news: Sidewalk project’s completion celebrated Thursday

The city of Austin will host an event to celebrate the completion of the first 2016 Mobility Bond sidewalk project, a newly constructed sidewalk in the North Loop neighborhood, at 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

The celebration will start in the parking lot of the Sky-View Baptist Church, 211 W. Koenig Lane. Mayor Steve Adler, Mayor Pro-Tem Kathie Tovo and District 4 City Council Member Gregorio Casar will attend, walking the new path along Chesterfield Avenue.
