Driver shot & killed after apparent hit and run in S. Austin 10/30/16

8:00 a.m. update: A man was shot and killed overnight Sunday after what appeared to be a hit-and-run, Austin police said.

Police were called to the scene of a house party in South Austin around 1 a.m. Sunday for reports of shots fired, Officer Demitri Hobbs said. When officers arrived, they found a man dead in a car parked in front of the house.

Hobbs said upon further investigation police had determined that the car, which was traveling down Armadillo Road near Windrift Way, had struck one of the partygoers. Its passengers fled the scene, Hobbs said. One man was found shot and killed inside the car…..
