DWI hit-and-run driver N. Colunga got 38 yrs for hitting ped K. Doniak

Seems like an usually significant penalty, especially given that the victim survived.  The fact that the collision was caught on video probably had something to do with it.

KXAN says the 38-year sentence works out to 14 years or less actual time served with probably parole.

Doniak was hit on February 3, 2012 and was then in a coma for six weeks.
