"From" Name in forum emails

Could we change the scary "Forum Robot" From: name to maybe the last person who posted? that might make the email list and the forum list look more integrated.  I like how easy it is to follow the posts in the forum email forwards.
Thanks.

Re: "From" Name in forum emails

Well, "Forum Robot" is how people can identify the post as coming from the web forum, if they're using a filter (or even if they're not using a filter).  And the whole thread isn't really coming from an individual, anyway.  Listing the whole thread as coming from one person could only cause confusion.  And finally, I'm trying to wean people off email and get them to post in the web forum instead, so listing someone's email address would kind of defeat that.  And you can easily see who the last poster was anyway by looking at the list of posts you get sent.

Ok, it was just an aesthetic issue. I like [Austin Bike Forum] or something like that.  What is the schedule for sending out a digest of the topic?

Re: "From" Name in forum emails

Threads with recent posts are sent to the list every morning at 8:00.  If there are 4 or fewer posts in a thread, I send all the posts.  If there are more than 4 posts made within the last 24 hours, I send all those recent posts.  If there are 4 or more posts in the thread and less than 4 were made within the last 24 hours, I send the last four posts.
