Note the breakout on the future of transportation...

APD hosts Oct. 29 Community Symposium
Morning sessions include prominent public safety figures including Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo, and Travis County Sheriff Greg Hamilton, while afternoon breakout sessions focus on the future of transportation in Austin , highway enforcement, home security and personal safety, the problem of hate groups in America and more. The final session is hosted by City Manager Marc Ott.

The event is Wednesday, Oct 29, 2008, at the Hilton Austin Airport . Space is limited, and registration is $20. For more information contact Jimmy Butler at (512) 974-6262.

Wow, that looks like it could be really interesting. I wish I could justify taking another day off of work this month.
