KVUE News

A man was rushed to the hospital Monday morning after he collided with a pickup truck while riding a bike.

It happened on Highway 150 in Kyle.

Officials say a correctional officer was riding his bike to work westbound on the shoulder of the eastbound lane, when a car headed east came to a sudden stop. A pickup behind the car veered into the shoulder to avoid hitting the car and struck the cyclist head on.

The cyclist was taken to Brackenridge Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
