Assistant Travis County prosecutor charged with DWI

An assistant district attorney in Travis County is facing a drunken driving charge following a crash Sunday afternoon in Southwest Austin, according to a search warrant affidavit.
Brandon Grunewald, 33, is facing the charge after he was questioned by police in a crash that occurred along the southbound MoPac Boulevard (Loop 1) service road near Barton Skyway around 3:30 p.m. Sunday, the affidavit said........
The Grunewald’s arrest comes as Lehmberg is embroiled in legal efforts to remove her from office in the wake of her DWI arrest this spring. She pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 45 days in jail but was released in about half that time for good behavior.
She has said several times that she will not resign but still faces pressure from some residents to step down. About a dozen protesters gathered outside her home Monday morning urging her to leave office.......
