Check out the new buffered lanes on 3rd St

Now this is how a city does bike lanes to near perfection.

Have you had a chance to ride on the new buffered bike lanes on 3rd St ? Unfortunately, they are only completed between Brazos and San Jacinto but they sure are sweet. High curbs and one way bike lanes make them ideal. Also, cars are only allowed to park on one side of the street and they help to buffer the cyclists from motor traffic. Nice, Copenhagenish setup.

Now we need these all over central Austin.
