New bike shop near Manor/Cherrywood: Windmill Bicycles

I first lived in this neighborhood in 1987, and for at least as long as 26 years we've sorely needed a bike shop.  There's no shortage of apartment complexes filled with UT students who ride bicycles, but haven't been able to get their bikes fixed in their own neighborhood.

Until now.  Welcome Windmill Bicycles, at 2209 Manor Road, next to El Chilito.

Finally!

BTW, when I went in and mentioned that I'd add them to the Bicycle Austin website, they thought I was talking about the Bike Austin website.  I knew that LOBV's new name was going to cause confusion, but that was their choice.

Also BTW, speaking of bike shops, Bicycle Austin (that's me) has a complete list of all the bike shops in town, as well as a Google Map to show you where they are.

It's a pity the high rent rates in Tarrytown, it looks someone could make a buck or two opening one in there. Bike shop virgin territory.
