Moontower Ride(s) - May 12th

Hey All-

I have been doing the Moontower ride on Saturdays that covers all 15 existing moontower locations (really 14.5 since 22nd and Nueces is just the base).  It is roughly a 20 mile trek with some decent climbs.  You can check out the route here at MapMyRide.

http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/87517947

The ride starts on the eastside where we fuel up with a few breakfast tacos (Veracruz or Tamala House East) and ends at the East 11th and Lydia moontower (next to Longbranch Inn and Hillside Farmacy).

I would like to make this a monthly ride if anyone is interested and ultimately get the Midnight Moontower ride back in action.

If anyone is interested in a Saturday morning, May 12th ride let me know by posting and we can coordinate.

Best.  Chris

I would do it with you.  There are no climbs on that ride that intimidate me at all, but I am not a 20 mph avg. dude, more like 12-14 moving time average.

I can't do the 12th, but keep posting reminders...I'd like to do this in the future.

@Donald Lewis

I am a 10 - 12 mph guy so we are probably a good fit.  I like to start prior to 9am to beat the heat. Thoughts - does that work?

I am going to do it sometime this week with my sister and brother-in-law and they may join for the 12th too.  We are all prepping for the Real Ale ride in Blanco that next weekend.

Best.

I often ride before 6:00 AM, in fact I rode in from Oak hill to work near downtown today leaving the house at 5:45.  As early as you want is fine.  I will put this on the calendar -- just tell me where to meet up.  I am the guy who wears non-standard clothes for biking and pushes on platform pedals.

Re: Moontower Ride(s) - May 12th

@Don.

Saturday May 12th is still a go for me.  Let's meet on the corner of Chicon and E. 6th at 8:30am. Same - I too, just wear a pair of shorts and t-shirt and just ride a run of the mill Trek that is the cheapest model they have.

I did the ride this past Saturday with a couple of pit stops, Zilker Clubhouse Building  (cold water at mile 8) and Avenue B Store (soda and energy bar at mile 16).

The ride takes me about 2 1/2 hours so we should be finished around 11am.

Right now it looks like just the two of us.  My cell is three1 two, 3 seven one, cero seis 1 three.  You can text me if this time and meet up spot works for you.

Best.  Chris
