Scammed by ActiveAdvantage when I signed up for the Wurst ride

Today I found a $59.95 charge on my credit credit card for a "one month trial membership" in Active Advantage.  I did NOT knowlingly enroll in this.

A quick google search shows lots of complaints.

I e-mailed the Wurst ride promoters (who may or may not look at their e-mail at this time) and suggested they let someone else process their ride registrations.

I did get the membership canceled and a refund promised.  They claimed I checked a box to enroll when I registered for the ride.  That's not like me.  It may have
been checked by default and hidden.  Kind of like all the crap they put on your phone bill and hope you never check it.

Re: Scammed by ActiveAdvantage when I signed up for the Wurst ride

Well I got a very quick reply:

"Hi Don,

We've already moved everything to a different system.  We received a number of emails from participants similar to yours.

Thanks so much for taking the time to let us know!

Cheers,  Sandy"

I didn't think I was the only one.  Good to know the ride organizers are on top of it.
