CycLAvia draws 100,000 in Los Angeles on 10/10/10

I don't know how I missed this, but a couple of months ago Los Angeles closed eight miles of city streets for a ciclovia.  I'm kicking myself because I was in L.A. at the time, but I didn't hear about it.  Organizers say it drew 100,000 participants:

If L.A. can do this, surely Austin can.  Are we gonna let LOS ANGELES be more progressive than us?
