To be fair, the DA is prosecuting the guy -- just not for for the felony that he committed, but instead for some misdemeanors.  They do plea bargains like that all the time, but they don't normally flat out say "we're not doing it because he'd lose his job" ...

It's still frickin' BS, mind you, but not quite as bad as you made it sound.

That guy better get a massive civil settlement ... though I guess we'll never know.

And shocker, the guy representing the victim is part of the team headed up by Pam Mackey who turned Hurlbert inside out during the Kobe Bryant rape case.
