A bicyclist is being treated for serious injuries at University Medical Center Brackenridge after being hit by a vehicle in East Austin this morning, according to an Austin police official.

The cyclist was hit near the intersection of Airport Boulevard and 16th Street before 5 a.m., Austin police Sgt. Keith Bazzle said.

It took about two hours to clear the scene, Bazzle said.
