Beautiful Purple Fade 1995 Raleigh M-50 - Sold

Beautiful Purple Fade 1995  Raleigh  M-50

Sold

Really nice over sized steel mtn frame, early 90's style, w/ long chain stays and no suspension.....perfect for multi condition commuting in austin.
Great starter setup that includes commuter tires and rack, saddle bag, ulock/key/mounted on bike, water bottle/cage, new shifters/levers, grips, pads....recently tuned and ready to ride.
Excellent condition.
Should fit someone 5'10" - 6'2"ish.
This bike will get you all over austin's roads, construction, crushed granite paths, trails, hike and bike, etc...
Lots of potential for Violet Crown, Slaughter Creek, Williamson Creek trail systems and interconnectivity.
Can ride to work, errands, or just for fun tomorrow on this bike.
All you need is helmet and lights.

Upgrades to consider.....
Step 1: HQ pedals and have the wheels hand trued/tensioned, cones and bearings serviced (neither bad now, just what I might consider if riding lots). Upgrade u-lock.

Or,

What I would do with this beauty....
I have two of these luscious purple steel bikes. I stripped and kept one of them to rebuild like this:
Strip it to the frame, order LHT touring fork and front rack, and rebuild it as a go anywhere commuter/touring rig.
Complete with butterfly/trekking bars, modern headset and stem, handbuilt Velocity wheels, Schwalbe Big Apples/Big Bens or Conti Cruise Contact Balloon tires, Deore LX touring group, V-brakes w/ KoolStops, Brooks saddle, etc.

Or whatever setup you might like.....
