Drunk woman hit-and-runs 3 on moped, said she thought she hit a cone

A drunk woman hit and injured 3 people on a moped, didn't stop, and when was later arrested said she thought she hit a traffic cone.

Ah yes, the Gabrielle Nestande defense.  Well, it worked for Nestande.

The driver was caught because a witness caught up with the driver and blocked her car.

One of the comments following the article says it all:  "Hit and run is not a serious crime in Austin, everybody does it."
