KXAN article on pedicabs

KXAN ran a mixed article on pedicabs, mentioning cabbies who gouge their customers, and who break traffic laws.  As always, I like to put things in perspective, and Tom Wald of Bike Austin did that brilliantly in the first comment about the article:

After all the scorn for pedicab operators in the video (at 10pm on safety), the video concludes with a two-ton motor vehicle driving into the crosswalk on a red light at 4th & Lavaca. And yes, pedestrians do get injured and killed by this behavior. Minor traffic violations are habitual and ubiquitous, and by no means exclusive to pedicab operators. It is really hard to accept the competency of these journalists (at least for this story) with such cherry-picking of facts.

There are lots of other comments by readers, which are at least as interesting as the article itself.
