I live out in Oak Hill. I will drive in and pick up my friend in Rollingwood to go to RollerDerby at Palmer. We will figure a way to circumvent the madness and park at my shop on South First and then we will walk there. Doesn't matter how hard it might be raining.
Last weekend the kite festival traffic was bad enough when we made the mistake of cycling from South First to the Mopac bridge. Some total ***hole was DRIVING HIS DODGE CREWCAB PU up the Johnson Creek trail to find a place to park!
Coming back from our Johnson Creek-to-Shoal Creek ride and crossing Barton Springs we had a green and were confronted by three motor vehicles trying to turn left on the coattails of the dude who was in the intersection when the left turn light went from yellow to red.
Not one out of four motorists, cyclists or pedestrians will be 100% sober and drug-free tomorrow evening. Of course, the drunk motorists are the worst thing.
