anywhere inside the square....south of 183, west of 35, east of mopac, north of ben white.  That makes it easy.  Outside of this box and things could become an adventure.

So my tires have a contact patch of about a dime size and you are worried about a narrow bike lane.  It seems to me that any bike lane paint on the street is better than none.  I ride two abrest in the bike lane and We dont seem to have many problems with traffic...Guadalupe (north of 51st) does not have good bike lanes but people seem to respect them.   The narrow lanes nort of 51st are better than the lack of bike lanes south of 45th!!!

I would take shoal creek north to Steck.  Left on steck, climb the hill, right on mesa, left on old Jollyville.  When you get to the end of old jollyville cut through the dirt lot and make your way towar the crosswalk.  cross 360 on the crosswalk and you will see that there is a trail to the parking lot of the investment banker or what ever that is right behind the big book store at the arboretum.  It's actually a pretty nice commute.  The only "bad" part is steck, but it's over quickly and the cars should be used to seeing cyclist at that intersection.   If that freaks you out you can climb up the far west foot bridge and climb up that hill.  Simply climb up to mesa and take a right.  When you get to old jollyville take a left and you will do the dirt lot crossing that will drop you into the arboretum.
Go Commuters!
