that picture is fucking surreal. the first time i saw it my hah turned into a huuuuughhhhh about halfway thru.
agreed. i always feel safest taking the lane, so it's what i do. talking shit with some redneck at a light on 24th n guad who yells at me to 'get off the road' is preferrable to coming within 2.4 inches of a car a block prior.
The slime is great under 60psi, for 110 psi it is worthless, I already tried it. Its worse than worthless, you cant patch a slime tire, the slime lubricates and loosens the patch.
bah. i was about to come in here and ask about that. thanks tho.
I cant stand anything touching my back when I am sweating,
en serio, guey. i need to get on buying a trailer and some panniers or something because there is nothing quite as unpleasant as the thermal discomfort I experience with a giant wet patch on my back, and two lines from the shoulders down. It's such an uncomfortable juxtaposition of heat and cold. I used to have an underseat bag, but I grew tired of getting my tools stolen or having to carry it around. Taking off my lights when I leave the bike somewhere is one thing, but a bag is just one more thing to carry around / lose / forget.
I can usually fit all the basics in my fanny pack along with my smokes, wallet, etc...: tube, spanners (annoyingly necessary for fixing flats on my eccentric hub.), allen wrenches, and some chain. Add anything extra, however, and it's the sweatmaster style with the backpack. anyone got any reccomendations for some sort of (preferably easily removable) type thingy I could get to help solve my conundrum?
aw man, the roundabout rules.
i want direct drive and hard tires on my road bike. hell yeah. i just might have to move the seat back like 8 inches somehow.
Those of you who don't drive should probably just stay out of this kind of survey - because comments like 'speed limit everywhere should be 25/30' or Amy Babich's ridiculous similar complaint will immediately get your entire survey thrown into the mental equivalent of the trash.
Your right. It'd be a shame to get written off as a kook. (We want to make sure everyone's opinion is given equal opportunity for expression.)
I don't know how much speed limit has to do with safety, either. I would assume intersections are probably the most dangerous. Especially if there's a small bike lane, and the rider hasn't taken the lane. I pretty much take the lane all the time now adays. I still get yelled at, usually by trucks around the Drag, but it seems much safer than bike lanes, or anything. I think people should be educated about bikes more in driver training.
