BIKE: bike shipping via air

I'm off to Ireland for a few weeks and intend to stay carless the
entire time.  Any experiences shipping a bike via checked baggage on
the flight over?  I have scoured for a decent inexpensive shipping box
and I think I have found it.  http://www.crateworks.com/
Anybody know if these are sold locally?

Its pretty funny, my boss is over there right now and she is freaked
out that I would commute to work in Ireland for two weeks instead of
getting a rent car.  All the locals keep telling her that is perfectly
normal to commute by bicycle in Ireland.
