Transpo advocates: take interest in Austin Neighborhoods Council meeting, with presentation on ending stakeholder conflict and improving land use. Not exclusively transpo-related, but any help with that topic would be useful, I think.
I haven't seen the presentation, but there's pretty good buzz. This guy has spent several years (over 500 meetings, he says) in various parts of the country studying how to improve civic negotiation process. Here's his site http://landuse.org/ Be interested in anyone else's take.
Not that anyone on this list would know anything about stakeholder conflict... ; )
Please note their may be other things on ANC agenda, but this presentation will probably be majority of meeting.

How to end stakeholder conflict and get smarter land use....Karl Kehde, Presenter
This presentation details new procedures for resolving stakeholder conflict and for making any proposed land development in a settled area into an asset for the surrounding neighborhood. The presentation will include real examples of stakeholders teaming up to create amazing community enhancing land development plans.
This is a must attend for anyone involved in land development. With all the land development crises in Austin, this has meaning for everyone.
Come and bring a friend!!
