On Monday evening, the Urban Transportation Commission will be discussing
two issues which were recommended by the Bicycle-Pedestrian Subcommittee:
RESOLUTION REGARDING THE PLACEMENT OF
"NO PEDESTRIAN" SIGNS AT CITY INTERSECTIONS
This proposed resolution would require the city staff to submit proposals
for
review by the Urban Transportation Commission and approval by the City
Council before posting signs which prohibit pedestrians from crossing a
street.
RESOLUTION REGARDING THE POLICY FOR DISPLAYING A BICYCLE
FRIENDLY MESSAGE ON THE PALMER AUDITORIUM MARQUEE
This proposal would require the city staff to display a message saying
something like, "Share the road," on the Palmer Events Center message sign.
The meeting is scheduled to be begin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday,
September 20. The meeting is open to the public, and the public
is welcome to comment. The meeting will be held at One Texas
Center, 505 Barton Springs Rd., in the 11th Floor Conference Room.
