BIKE: Your New Route south of I35 and Ben White

 Prepare yourself for much worse riding conditions, in most of south Austin.  
I always admired and envied the wonderfully civilized bike friendly streets 
of central and north Austin.  But comparing that to south Austin, it's another 
world, and not a kind one for cyclists.  You've just seen the beginning.  As 
one who lived and rode and commuted there for 8 years (and suffered for it), 
you've just seen the tip of that icerberg.  Advice would be, carefully 
re-evaulate and alter your routes down there.  One CAN survive riding down there, but 
it takes a new level of caution and awareness.  Good luck.
