I got the police report last Friday. I was right hooked. I have no
recollection of anything between shifting up as I began descending the
hill, and coming to in the ambulance (although the maintenance
supervisor at the apartments there said I was sitting up answering
questions before the ambulance arrived). The police report indicates
that I impacted the right rear of a Chevy Malibu and became airborne,
although my bike doesn't show any damage to the front wheel at all.

The driver claims to have seen me in the bike lane, but thought he had
time to make the turn.

I will happily provide more info after all insurance stuff is
settled. I would hope folks would find it helpful. And, I appreciate
the kind of thoughtful critical analysis that Mike Librik provides.

I really appreciate all the kind emails from folks. One of the
orderlies in the Brack trauma center is a bike commuter; he was very
kind and concerned about me.

Thanks again, all.
