If I post something to a list, I expect this information to become part
of the public domain; i.e. freely reproducible, and so on. I don't have
a problem with people reposting things I say to another list.
What disturbs me about this is this person is taking things that I've
posted and changing parts of the text in order to alter the meaning (not
to mention posting my email address to Usenet, an annoyance all by itself).
For example, I said: "Now am I saying that bicyclists should be able to
blast through these intersections without even looking? No."
Fran Stine reposted my message to Usenet with "Now am I saying that
bicyclists should be able to blast through these
intersections without even looking? Yes!, just be careful."
I would say that constitutes a fairly significant change to the intended
meaning of my original text.
Bush supporters, what can you do. This from the Sunday New York Times:
"Mr. Bush's advisers plan to cap the month at the Republican convention
in New York, which they said would feature Mr. Kerry as an object of
humor and calculated derision."
Wow, what an excellent way of getting your point across. Solution:
don't waste time on Usenet News? Mike, if you have a tremendous amount
of time on your hands, give me a call and I'll put you to work doing
something useful for improving transportation in Austin. >;)
Leave Usenet to the losers like the person masquerading as Fran Stine.
I'll pay anyone who provides me with definitive information on who this
is $500, as I do plan to prosecute if I can find him/her.
