Bike
Like U Mean it SCREENING
- Bike Like U Mean It, a
new documentary by Rusty Martin and Susan Kirr, has its world
premiere at SXSW tomorrow. This film is a real Austin story, and
if you are looking for a film that encapsulates Austin's
counterculture, this is it. It's a portrait of Austin's bike
people, those who ride their bikes for transportation, defiantly
eschewing cars. Outspoken and iconoclastic, they actively promote
not only alternative forms of transportation, but an alternative
vision of cities, urban
- design, lifestyle, and culture.
Subjects include Critical Mass, the Yellow Bike Project, Amy
Babich & her letter-writing campaign, the Spinning Wheel
Project, and more. More info on the film is available at
BicycleAustin.info.
