If you don't do the Facebook thing ...

Looking at the calendar, the next full moon is coming fast. You know what that means ...
Yes, another Full Moon Cruise! As an added bonus, the full moon is coming on a weekend, so this means those of us with Monday through Friday jobs have no excuse not to make it!
This would be the Full Cold Moon; or the Full Long Nights Moon – During this month the winter cold fastens its grip, and nights are at their longest and darkest. It is also sometimes called the Moon before Yule. The term Long Night Moon is a doubly appropriate name because the midwinter night is indeed long, and because the Moon is above the horizon for a long time. The midwinter full Moon has a high trajectory across the sky because it is opposite a low Sun.
Since the full moon happens in the wee hours of Saturday morning, this means that we assemble on Friday night, December 9 11:59pm, and ride out at about 12:30am.
But wait ... there's more! As an additional added bonus, those who don't bug out early will enjoy part of an eclipse (starting at 5:33am) right before the moon sets!
Routes are typically set on the fly, but 20-30 miles is how they usually work out, and of course you can always leave and go home whenever you want. The ride goes on, rain or ((moon))shine. Looking at the weather, it's likely to be dry but cold.
As always, ride at your own risk, having lights on your bike at night is a good idea and it's always prudent to have at least enough equipment to change a flat.
