Dockless rental bikes might come to Austin

Some cities have bike rental systems more similar to Car2Go, in which you can leave the vehicle anywhere.  (Well, anywhere inside the service area.)  That would certainly make it more convenient than having to return the bike to a dock.  And the price is attractive:  $1 for 30 minutes, 50¢ for students.  But other cities that have tried it complain about bikes clogging sidewalks and trails.  In any event, City Council will consider a pilot program here.
