FrankenBike (n) a free bike swap meet held once a month in Austin, Texas that is open to anyone who wants to buy, sell or trade bicycles and bicycle related gear or parts. It is a party for kids of all ages.
October 30, 2011 marks the 75th consecutive monthly FrankenBike event held in Austin, Texas. To celebrate, we are throwing a Spooktacular Halloween Eve Party at Clown Dog Bikes, located at 2821 San Jacinto Blvd Austin, Texas 78705 (see our website for map). Please note that this event is held on SUNDAY, October 30 from 10am-4pm.
FrankenBike FAQS: FrankenBike in Austin typically meets on the last Saturday of every month and sees about 450 guests at each event. In addition, we receive over 17,000 monthly visits to our website, FrankenBike.net.
FrankenBike was started in June 2004 in Austin, Texas by Chris Gross. It has been occurring monthly in Austin at different locations ever since. Recently, we have expanded to several other cities throughout Texas and across the USA. FrankenBike is currently held in the following cities: Austin, San Antonio, Houston, Bryan-College Station, Asheville (NC) and Las Vegas. Currently, we are striving to add new cities every month.
FrankenBike works in conjunction with area organizations including Bike Texas, The Yellow Bike Project, NikiCoverstheCold.com, The Capital Area Blood and Tissue Center and Social Cycling Austin.
