Commute Alternatives programs

Many companies are starting "Commute Alternatives" programs to encourage employees not to drive alone to work.  These include things like:

* Shuttles to local transit stations
* Transit subsidies
* Vanpool/Carpool subsidies
* Reserved, primo parking for vanpools/carpools
* Carpool matching service
* Bike racks, lockers, and showers

Here's the program they run at Yahoo Inc.

Note that Yahoo also offers free lunches, massages, and movie tickets to employees who participate in the program.

Re: Commute Alternatives programs

AMD has a "commuter solutions" program. They don't subsidize transit unfortunately but due to my bicycle commuting I get about $75-100 in Bicycle Sport Shop gift certificates every quarter, and they have weekly drawings for additional gift certificates. Helps subsidize tubes and tires.

They also have on-site lockers and showers, as well as a free gym. Massages cost extra.
