Absolutely.  This policy is absurd.  It is an idiotic way to address the problem
of bike theft.  Will registering bikes prevent (or even reduce) theft?
 Doubt it.
If bike theft is the problem that UT wishes to solve, then they need
to bite the
bullet and improve security at bike lock-ups, plain and simple.  Problem is, of
course, that improving security increases costs, and we all know how
absolutely strapped poor UT is for cash.

On the contrary, you'd be unreasonable to suggest otherwise.

Basically, UT needs (secure) guest bike parking.

Man, for being an institution of higher learning ostensibly
