BIKE: The downtown Trolley vs. "Other" Election

While I completely agree with Bob's opinion of the Sammy/Bob crowd and
their right-wing audience, I didn't observe Jennifer Kim doing anything
to attempt to attract these idiots (including Mike Levy) to her side.
Clarke just pissed them off more, I guess. Kim explicitly disavowed some
of this stuff and asked one of the more egregious uninvited supporters
to cut it out.
(and that's why I voted for Kim - neighborhoods have way TOO MUCH power
in this city, not too little).
The 'wingers are probably not going to be any more excited with Kim than
they would have been with Clarke, all things considered - the 'wingers
want to destroy the center-city with more free (i.e. center-city
subsidized) highways to the 'burbs, but Kim's emphasis looks to me to be
for more dense downtown development so we don't have to.
And remember, more buildings downtown means more people able to bike to
work, whether they live downtown or not! Support the office towers
proposed for 6th/Lamar!
