For those keeping score at home, I saw this on another
"sport" riding list. And, also for the statistics (I can't remember
if I mentioned this before): the driver who hit me last August
also was not ticketed.

"Jay Bond was struck from behind by a car today while returning from
Freewheeling Ride. He was riding solo coming in on Burleson just
before Montopolis when an elderly gentleman was somehow distracted
(unticketed by the police) and drove into Jay's rear wheel which
launched him over the bars. I got the details from Jay this evening
as he'd just gotten home after an afternoon spent in the Brack
emergency room. He's got quite a bit of road rash on his back with a
probable broken wrist and possible broken ankle. He'll know more
tomorrow after visiting a specialist. Jay related how he didn't hear
the car coming and only realized something was wrong when everything
went slow motion as he was flying through the air."
