Endorsements for City Council are now up on BicycleAustin. Actually
they've been up since Saturday.
Eric's post about Bike Month events didn't go through because it was
too big from all the formatting, so here it is again. Actually I think
somebody already posted this after Eric's attempt but it probably bears
repeating. And of course, it's linked from the front page of
BicycleAustin.

Fellow austin bicyclists:
Bike Austin! Month is upon us! Join bicyclists from across Austin to
celebrate our gentle technology, and perhaps by coming together, push
forward an agenda for a more livable city, humane world, and perhaps
just more fun!
Expect our finest Bike Austin! Month since the esteemed efforts of the
City of Austin (1993-1999) and Katherine Otto (2000 and 2001). We will
have over 24 events including multiple rides, bike-safety education
(Road-One course by Austin Cycling Association/ League of American
Bicyclists), a few re-incarnated bike month events (Stuart Werbner's
Park, Shop, Picnic in the Park Ride on May 15th, bike-and-ride for free
on Cap Metro May 20th/ Bike to Work Day, to the Wheatsville Bike Swap
on May 29th), and several new ventures (including the Light Up Your
Bike Night Ride and Vigil on May 13th and the Rails-with-Trails Vision
Tour on May 22nd).
This year's Bike Austin! Month is being coordinated by nine Austin
organizations, in part supported by the City of Austin and Cap Metro
(Bike Town, April 29th / Bike to Work Day, May 20th), and sponsored in
some manner by more than a dozen Austin businesses and a handful of
national concerns!
Kicking off Bike Austin! Month will be the Rodale Press "Bike Town"
event at City Hall, South Plaza, 3:00 pm, Friday, April 29th. Biketown
is Rodale Press/ Bicycling magazine giveaway of 50 free Elecktra brand
bicycles to the winners of a 50 word essay: "How will a bike change my
life?"
Also April 29th, the 8th! annual "Political Pedal" will directly follow
the Biketown presentation, press conference and entertainment. Join
this traditional bike ride with our elected officials and council
candidates (a short meander through downtown departing City Hall at
4:30 pm) and arriving at the Bitter End "B" side at 5:30 pm for
"Bicyclist's Happy Hour".
Lastly, National Bike to Work Day is Friday, May 20th, with eight
scheduled breakfast stations. See all the Bike Austin! Month details
below. Read on, print out, post on the fridge, and forward to your
friends. See also Southwest Cycling News bike month issue hitting your
favorite coffeehouse and bike shop next week, as well as Wheatsville
Food Coop's bike month issue of the Wheatsville Breeze.
Many happy revolutions this May!
