Absolutely untrue. Despite anything you read in the papers (or
anywhere else), no decision has been made on a rail vehicle for
Austin's proposed commuter line. Although some examples have been
pictured, some technologies suggested, and some people are trying to
tell us "they know," Capital Metro has not made a choice. Had they
made a choice, Capital Metro officials would not continue to visit
with various manufacturers here and abroad as they have been doing
for the last six weeks. They were in Denver this week previewing the
Colorado Rail Car.

As for Mr. Levy's remarks, it only underscores what Bob Farr and Phil
Hallmark are saying "on what happens next." (Hallmark-18 Ocober)

The important thing November 2nd is to enable the transit authority
to move off its current no-win situation of being used as a cash cow
for Central Texas road projects.
As Fred Merideth put it (18 October), "I'm voting for the commuter
rail. We need options."
There will be no options if this doesn't pass.
