Have a look at some motorcycle shops selection, or on websites sell
motorcycle or motorscooter accessories. You can find heavier duty cargo gear
and locks there.

I have a good 6-hook bungee netting. If nothing pans out for you, let me
know, as it sits on my Tri-Hauler and is rarely used, as I favor the
ratcheting nylon belt stuff on the TH. If you size you pot right, you could
connect an unused small bike rim to the rack to better support the round
container.

How about a thermos? Picnic or construction site goods would likely have
something with the right volume.
