BIKE: Southwest Cycling News at Wheatsville

That's not a bad idea and I would certainly accept the help of anyone
who wanted to construct such recycled distribution racks for
Wheatsville or any other location. Eric has already embraced the idea
and may be promoting it with Yellow Bike as I write.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, I have the following guidelines,
observations, etc.

There is room for not only recycling bike materials into fitting
dispensers for a cycling publication. I am sure that artistic
creativity will also creep into any such project.

In anticipation of that, I have two things to say. Don't make them
too bulky or unusually shaped as they need to fit closely with more
mundane newspaper racks which all have pretty rectangular footprints
and aren't over 2.5 or 3 feet tall. Also, if they look to nifty,
neat, and creative, some jerk will undoubtedly steal them for their
own living room ambiance. If they are really neat looking, we may
have to lock them to something.

Other than those two caveats, I'm all for it.

When in doubt ... ride your bike (or at least write about it).
