BIKE: Baby vs SUV

I am not sure of the validity of this, but it was on

I have followed the arguments on CL against both 
bicycles and SUVs and abstained for some time now. It 
is after the attrocities that I saw this afternoon, 
that I choose to speak up.

This afternoon, as I cruised down Beecaves, I was 
slowed down by emergency vehicles tending to an 
accident. I tried not to look, but failed, as this 
yellow blob beckoned me from the corner of my eye. 

What was it???

It was the little cart on wheels that attaches to a 
bicycle to bring the not-yet-mobile child along for a 
ride. 

Where was it???

Crammed in the wheel of a Suburban.

I have yet to get over the shock of this site, but am 
writing to say that we, fellow Austinites, must learn 
to live together. We live in a city that welcomes 
bicyclists, motorcyclists, SUV drivers and such. We 
must learn to share, as that little child who was in 
the yellow cart may never learn to do. 

Please share the roads of Austin.
