BIKE: Capital Metro Community Connections Workshop

Hi all...some of you may have received this on other
lists, but wanted to cover the bases. Saturday's
workshop will offer an opportunity to discuss all
facets of amenities for Cap Metro's bus
system...including improvements for bicycles.

Any and all are welcome, but please RSVP as soon as
possible, since space is limited!

We’re asking for your expertise in helping shape our
community. Join more
than 100 community leaders from the region to pool
that expertise in a
morning Community Connections workshop to decide:

* How transit can best add value to a neighborhood or
business district.

* What makes a bus stop or transit center attractive
to the community and
what must it have to serve the community.

* What amenities will enhance our quality of life,
both for bus riders and
non bus riders alike (For example, investments in
beautified streets,
neighborhood/business district identity, public art,
public safety, shelter
design, lighting, etc.)

You’ll be planner for a day, which means a chance to
sketch out your ideas
and directly influence how more than 600 projects and
millions of dollars in
improvements will change the area landscape and our
quality of life.

Who: You, 100 of your peers, and Capital Metro
(Partnering with the City of
Austin and the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning
Authority)

What: Community Connections Workshop

When: Saturday, April 3, 9 a.m. to Noon. (An optional
Noon Lunch/Work
Session Follows until 1 p.m.)

Where: Thompson Conference Center, University of Texas
at Austin, 26th and
Red River Streets
