BIKE: ACTION ITEM: UTC Meeting Monday 3/15

There will be a meeting of the City of Austin Urban Transportation 
Commission on Monday 3/15.

Address: 505 Barton Springs Rd. 8th Floor Conference Room
Time: 6:00pm

On the agenda will be an item seeking to place some bicycle infrastructure 
such as Bicycle Lanes or Sharrows on Guadalupe and Lavaca streets in the 
Central Business District (CBD).

If you would like to see any additional accommodations made for cyclists, on 
Guadalupe and Lavaca downtown, where currently none exist, then you are 
strongly urged to attend.

Reasons to offer more accommodation:
1) Guadalupe and Lavaca are already heavily used by cyclists. Despite the 
wishes of many, it is unlikely they will be migrating to side streets in the 
future.
2) There are many destinations right along these roads -- APL, Travis Co. 
Offices, Post Office, state office buildings, other office buildings, 
various restaurants, connections to numerous bus routes, etc..
