BIKE: Bike Lockers in UT Parking Garages

Good luck on your Southeast Austin commuting, Lane. That is one of
the real problem areas around Ben White and I-35.

I think that the pavement differential you describe may be temporary.
Could it be that there is one more layer of asphalt planned for that
roadway, one that would bring it more or less level with the concrete
of the curb cut?

Yes, bike lockers are generally an outdoor solution and they require
a strategy for use that keeps people from turning them into storage
lockers for their convenience. Their best placement is at
transportation hubs where riders will transition from buses or trains
to bicycles or from off-site motor vehicle parking to bicycles for
the last leg of a multi-modal commute.

Fred (don't see nothing wrong with the complicated bike racks as long
as you have a real bike and the proper lock) Meredith -- except, yes,
they cost too damned much for what they provide.,
