prices :-(

The latest crude oil price rises have translated into stable gasoline
prices (Shell Regular @ $1.699 here in New Orleans today) and rising
diesel
prices.
#2 Diesel fuel is just #2 Heating Oil with lower sulfer and higher
quality controls. The two #2 market prices move in tandem with diesel at
a slight premium for the reasons noted. So just look at the heating oil
markets to see diesel price movements.
This may be related to the traditional seasonal shift in prices.
Gasoline up in the summer and #2 heating oil up in the winter due to
supply & demand factors. Or the refinery premium for gasoline (due to a
shortage of world refining capacity, and gasoline is more heavily refined
than diesel) may be easing. Or both factors may be affecting prices.
Not good news for most transit agencies :-(
