BIKE: Round Rock ACA meeting Thursday, 8/12

Hi, folks--

It's me again, reminding you to attend the next meeting of the Round Rock 
ACA chapter (ahem, as soon as the paperwork's complete) on Thursday, August 
12, at 7 PM. We will meet at Saradora's, 101 E. Main St. in downtown Round 
Rock.

We have had our first group ride event, riding together from Round Rock 8 
to Main St. for the "first Thursday" Artisan Stroll. We had our first Round 
Rock-located Road 1 course at the end of July (I passed), and there will be 
another in a few weeks. I need to confirm the date.

As for myself, I've been discussing the traffic/dangerous motorists 
situation with the local police, with varying levels of satisfaction on my 
part. The police will, however, assist with community safety events and 
publicize Road 1 courses. We may even have a few new members from the 
police force. Creating a positive relationship with the police is a high 
priority, and I'd say we're on our way.

I have started riding on 620, between the HEB at O'Connor and downtown just 
across the I-35 overpass. Thank you, Road 1 instructors.

I hope Round Rock is ready for an increase in bicycle traffic.
