[BIKE: Relevant to recent discussions]

Fine, it's not always dangerous to disregard a traffic signal. I'll concede
that. I'll even admit to doing so in very limited circumstances.

However, I submit that anyone doing so while in the public view is advocating
and practicing anarchy to some degree. This sort of activity, like masturbation,
is best practiced while beyond the view of the general public. It may be a
satisfying experience for the cyclist, but such activity in plain view reflects
poorly upon all cyclists, as is reflected by Barrientos' voting record on the
UTC.

And while some cyclists among us may think they are safe to choose for
themselves which stop signs and traffic signals to obey, they need only
miscalculate once to end up with permanently hairy palms and a lifetime of
regret. I've certainly had enough eye opening near-brushes with death to swear
off such activity.
