The Statesman is an editor-led newspaper and not a reporter-led
newspaper by its nature capable of uncovering the real truth. It is
controlled by the corporate Cox chain, which is a cable/media empire
that publishes a few papers on the side.

Probably some higher-up told the reporter to do the story. Who knows?
If there is one thing our media is obviously not, its a democracy.

It does seem to me that the Stateman is trying to make the point that
bikers can cause problems. Sort of a man-bites-dog story. Call the
reporter and ask who suggested the story, and tell us about it here.
